Apple IPhone 3G S

So guys, as you know, the Apple iPhone 3G S is out in the market....officially! Well, the IPhone 3G was overall a pretty good phone, but quite slow, if you ask me. But know, the 3G S promises to be one of the fastest in the business. Well, they may not me wrong, as the 'S' in the 3G S stands for Speed! Here are the technical details--->

Speed
• The iPhone 3GS has a new processor built-in. Apple claims that it is up to two times faster than the previous generation: Launching messages is 2.1 faster, load the NY Times in Safari: 2.9 times faster. It also consumes less, which has an impact on the improved battery life.
Camera
This is one of the strong points of the iPhone 3GS, according to Apple. They increased the resolution to 3 megapixels, which—judging from the shots they showed-seems much better quality under all conditions.
• 3 Megapixels sensor.
• New camera, with auto focus, auto exposure, and auto white balance.
• You can also tap to focus, changing white balance in the process. That is really neat, if you ask me.
• Special macro and low light modes.
• The camera also supports photo and video geotagging.
• Any application can access all the camera functions now.
• It supports video, 30 frames per second VGA with auto focus, auto white balance, and auto exposure.
• You can trim the video shot just using your finger, then share it via MMS, email, MobileMe and YouTube.
Connectivity

The other part of the "S" is the support for the faster 7.2 Mbps 3G standard, which in theory will deliver data faster to your iPhone.

• Three band UMTS/HSDPA.
• Four band GSM/EDGE.
• Wi-Fi 802.11b/g.
• Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR
Graphics
• The new iPhone 3GS includes new 3D graphics support in hardware. This means faster and more complicated 3D games.
• Same 3.5-inch widescreen multitouch display, but this time it has a fingerprint-resistant oleophobic coating. No oily marks then..I suppose. Will it sustain my french fries-cum-gaming torment?

Design
• Same design as before, including the glossy finish of the back.
• Same size as the old iPhone 3G: 4.5 x 2.4 x 0.48 inches.
• The weight increases a bit: One ounce to 4.8 ounces (135 grams vs 133 grams).
• Greener materials: Arsenic-free glass, BDF-free, Mercury-free LCD.

New Special Features

• It has a magnetometer, which works with a Compass application, third parties, and it is integrated into the new Google maps app, showing your orientation with a small semitransparent cone.
• Voice control. You can now talk with your iPhone, Enterprise-style. You can instruct it to play similar songs to the one you are playing, or call people.
• Nike + support built in.
• Supports accessibility features, like zooming on text, inverting video, and voice over when you touch whatever text is on screen.

Battery Life

• One of the more important new features is the increased battery life.
• According to Apple, you will get up to 12 hours of talk time on 2G and 5 on 3G, with a up to 300 hour standby time.
• On 3G, it will deliver 5 hours of internet use.
• On Wi-Fi, Internet goes up to 9 hours.• Video playback is 10 hours vs 30 hours for audio.

Price

If you are "a valued AT&T customer," AT&T offers an "early iPhone upgrade with a new 2-yr commitment and an $18 upgrade fee." The price? $399.00 for the 16GB iPhone 3G S and $499.00 for the 32GB iPhone 3G S. It gets worse: For non-qualified customers, including existing AT&T customers who want to upgrade from another phone or replace an iPhone 3G, the price with a new two-year agreement is $499 (8GB), $599 (16GB), or $699 (32GB).

Standard price-
• $199 for 16GB version.
• $299 for 32GB version.

Bye bye, AT&T.

So, overall, a pretty neat phone. Nice new features, good camera, fast, pretty fast.

My rating- ☻☻☻☻☺- 4/5.

When I saw my blog last time, I went snoring!
Just trying to rhyme a little too much, is'nt that idiotic?
It is just that different style of words I pick...
So gotta go, it's time for dinner,
and if I am late, I am a gonner!
So bye guys, and just turn up to this site once more,
Because you'll get to see more things, that's what of I am sure!

SIgning off,
Manas (The Gonner who does'nt care about his blog)

Exams are days to go, and tention is going to conquer my head.

The Influential Song- My December

- Linkin Park Lyrics

One episode- That changed the goal of my Life

The first episode that I watched of 'My Brilliant Brain' on NatGeo shaped my life to a new motive. Quantum mechanics, a rather 'undiscovered' field of physics for many usual people, but the aim of my life- To do something special, different from the others, in the field of quantum mechanics. So what if I am not familiar, or too small for it??.....I say that If you have the will, then you have the way. So better late than never, I have decided to work upon quantum mechanics from this age and start learning the basics. Thanks for the inspiration, Natgeo!

Now one more thing that touched my heart was 'My December' by Linkin Park, which proved to be the lucky song for me! It is an awesome son, which inspires me and also defines the depth of life and how to deal with this depth. I have rather become very 'emotional' this week. But overall, this was a very nice week. So I am signing off, with the aim of quantum physics in my soul.

By the way, say this if you can(fast)-

Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled pepper, a peck of pickled pepper peter piper picked.
So if Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled pepper, then where is the pek of picled pepper peter piper picked????

Debate- Enlgish Literary Week 2007

This was my debate speech for the english literary week 2007-

Good morning everybody. I am Manas Jha of class VII- G and I will be speaking against the motion on the topic ‘Spare the rod, Spoil the Child’.

In this era of rapid development, surviving has also become a challenge. Not just a bachelors degree, but good etiquettes, manners and discipline give you an identity in the society, and an edge over the others. These manners are not like chapters of a book which can be learnt at any point of time, but they are habits which either develop in us at a very young age or never. These manners are taught to us by our parents, sometime by the use of words and sometimes by breaking a few cricket bats. Yes, getting scolded and sometimes getting beaten up is also an essential stage in our life. But one question must be arising in your mind after getting scolded that why do the parents hit children. Actually, when the children are young they don’t have the maturity to differentiate between good and the bad, and feel that whatever happening around them is the right thing to do. They also have fun in the act and continue to do it, whether it be good or bad. Their parents, being matured and knowing the depth of the world, explain their children about the right things and the wrong, and sometimes when the children don’t follow there advices then the parents get enforced to use strict and stern means. When children are scolded or scared at one act, it leaves an impact in the child’s mind that if they do it again then they would get a scolding again and so they stop doing it. It is that child’s environment that makes him adapt to it, and do whatever is happening around him. Let’s take a simple example of the school, where small activities like fighting or stealing if not controlled at a very young age let on to create bigger cases such as smoking, drinking, gambling and eventually spoil the child’s life. I guess even children would feel bad about the ‘cruel’ tasks of there parents but their parents are there own well- wishers and they always want the good of their children. And eventually even you all would get to know that avoiding those few scolding could have ruined your life! So after these 2 minutes of speaking, we conclude that ‘Spare the Rod, Spoil the child’ should be reconstructed to ‘Spoil the rod, but don’t spoil the child’.

Thank You
-Manas Jha

WHISTLE OF THE GREEN

WHISTLE OF THE GREEN

Before the alarm, before the yawn,
Swaying there wings, chirp at first light, morn breeze
there essence makes our refreshing soul sway,
those dew drops at the greenery,
give a diamond shine to the whistling morning,
Nature is not what you see, hear, smell,
It is what you feel, because it is the whistle of the green.

Then the father of all, shines its pride from the east
Blooming the sunflowers, in the seek of a cohort
Thriving the animals, in the lookout of drops of life,
Increasing the competition for food, between breeds
Germinating new saplings in a hope of a smile on the seeds,
Nature is not what you see, hear, smell,
It is what you feel, because it is the whistle of the green.

Then sets the shine, with a joy of today and hope of tomorrow,
Generating a breezing, cool red sky, Speaking its beauty, without words
That silence, below the soft glare of the moon,
And the twinkling beads, like decorating the heaven on earth,
And the garden breeze winds, summing up the beauty of god,
Nature is not what you see, hear, smell,
It is what you feel, because it is the whistle of the green.

Tend to forget the past, being lost in the present, having a glimpse of future
Nature may not be our parent or teacher,
But a messenger of god, to emphasize its creation,
You don’t see the wonderful language of nature,
It is what you feel, because it is the whistle of the green.

So at last, with a spirit of charm, and the thought of the calm,
We would plead to hear the cries of the nature,
What is it trying to call for, in spite of its beauty,
Calling for help, to make your fore sons feel the beauty,
It would like you to save itself from the disaster and calamity,
As nature is not what you see, hear, smell,
It is what you feel, because it is the whistle of the green.
